MDI, Inc. Subsidiary MDI Security Systems Announces over $1M in Recent Product Shipments for System Upgrades and Modernization Projects

Modernization Sites Include High-Security Military Installations, Federal Government Agencies and School Districts

SAN ANTONIO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MDI, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDII) announced today that MDI Security Systems has recently assembled, tested and shipped over $1M in security software and hardware that will be used to upgrade existing MDI client systems and complete ongoing enterprise security modernization projects. These notable MDI projects will be installed by three of the world's largest government security and IT systems contractors.

The customers receiving the MDI system upgrades include a high-security military installation, three federal government agencies that are preparing their systems for compliance with HSPD-12 (FIPS 201) and a large school district customer that will be adding newly constructed schools and additional buildings to its MDI security platform. Because the majority of these systems will be installed at classified government facilities, MDI is contractually bound to provide only the most general details about the installation, location, installer and technical design of these systems.

Each security system has undergone successful Factory Acceptance Testing by the integration department at MDI headquarters in San Antonio, TX. This testing has been overseen and approved by formal security representatives of the end-user client. The systems have been shipped and are ready for immediate installation at customer sites by MDI certified integration partners. These certified partners, who have completed training in MDI product integration to successfully perform the upgrade services for these clients include:
